Target Audience Research

Our groups genre is Action/Comedy which has some of the most popular interest within a representative sample in Great Britain. We chose a Action/Comedy film as it's Comedy part has the most percentage that enjoy watching them. On the Page where the % of people enjoy watching genres it tells us that as Comedy is our main genre and Action with a lower but still a high percentage of people that enjoy watching them is our sub genre. Comedy has the highest percentage of people enjoying it at 64% while Action is 5 genres down from that at 50% of people. This should still mean that we secure the target audiences which are both mainstream audiences.

   

 Although both genres, Action and Comedy have mainstream audiences our group are going to aim our target audience at Females 15-35 years old as they are the highest for that gender and genre and on the other hand Males 15-35 years old for the action side as this will aim towards our mainstream audiences. This will also give us large demographic to target at with our audiences. Every social class is included in both of our genres which will also secure us in a more larger target audience meaning that Males and Females age 15-35 years old will be targeted and also each social class will also.

Comedy is seen as the most viewed genre in cinema even more securing the potion of a larger target audience to work with meaning that it spreads throughout a large type of people in their social, genre specifics and gender.

On the page where over 16s rate their favorite genre, around 30% of the public rate Comedy as their favorite and around 20% rate Action as their favorite genre. This tells us that we have around 50% of the public audience aimed at as our target audience. This means that we would have a very high interest in the film as around half of people have Action or Comedy as their favorite genre.
